On this day in 1942, the as a result of attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy at the Solomon Islands, the US counter-attacked and sunk the IJN Ryujo. Christian Hoeltge shares his rendition of Aoshima''s 1/700 scale Ryujo to commemorate the day.
