Hi Dave,
Wow, this is cool! I built the ancient Matchbox 1/700 version of the Exeter years ago... this looks to be a much better rendition of the ship. I ran the text of the Aoshima web link you provided through Google translator:
"Venue announcement Next-generation development new products ,,,
The British cruiser Exeter -! !
Fight against Admiral Speaker off Laplata,
Fighting in the battle field with the Japanese Navy off the coast of Surabaya
It is a British prestigious warrior.
When sinking, the destroyer rescues,
The British at that time
Behavior is a legend.
I'll sink it with splendor and respect! !
It is released next year. stay tuned! !"

Hi Tim,
The hull looks a bit banana-shaped! Hope this is just a trick of the light!
Have to say I have never come across any Aoshima kits before, but do know that they tend to be pricey here in the UK compared to other brands.
Your translation gave me a good giggle though!

I'm looking forward to this!
Aoshima's come a long way from their Waterline ships of my youth (1970s). Theirs used to be the worst of the series in terms of detail and fit. Now they're among the best.
