1:525 ? That is a wierd scale... I wish there would be one tanker in 1:350 scale

Box scale. Actually it goes nicely with the other ancient 1/500-ish kits of the time from Revell, Renwal and Lindberg. (And Nichimo Japanese ships) So there is a whole fleet of 40-60 year old kits it was meant to accompany. 1/500-1/600 Used to be the ship scale once upon a time before Tamiya decided to double the size of the waterline series to 1/350.

It's a piece of modeling history. Now do I get one to accompany my Revell carriers--

Stephen, you're right, this kit is a piece of modeling history... but IMHO, not one of the best pieces! The subject and scale are about the best things going for this model, but the plastic overall is just a bit crude. Still, if your Revell 1/540 carrier is thirsty, what can you do?!
