Mike, That is one clean, beautiful build. I remember building the old Revell USS Defiance (PG-95) as a kid; your model is the look I was striving for... Well done!

Details are really nice. Is that a half barrel grill on the rear deck?

Thank you Tim for the nice comment. I still have the Revell Defiance kit, one of these days it will be built as a PGM missile boat. I'm sure your version of the gunboat would be equal to your Revell USCGC Taney in outstanding workmanship.

Mike,
Outstanding build. Love all the details. Really exceptional. I hope you don't mind but I've saved all your photos to help me with my build of the old Revell USS Tacoma.
Thanks
John

Thanks Barry for the nice comments. It was two years in the building but always happy when a ship gets finished.

Very observant Russ!
I always try to add a little piece of shipboard life to a model, the half 55 gallon "bar-b-q grill" was a staple on the ships I was stationed on. Researching the USS Ready I noted the crew enjoying a cookout on the stern next to the missile launchers. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you John for the nice comments.
Are you going to build the Tacoma as a gunboat or as a PGM? The Revell kit has a lot of possibilities, one of the boats has a wicked cool camouflage paint scheme used in Vietnam. Good luck in your build, hope your finished model gets posted on this site!
