Here are a few photos of the model presently at my workbench.

It's Mikro Mir's 1:350 kit of the lone Beluga class submarine, an experimental submarine (project 1710) used to test hull shape and other technologies.

I hope to post another update soon.

Cheers

Bom dia Marco,

Very nice work so far!.....looking forward to seeing more.

How is the plastic quality on these MikroMir kits?

Wow, that's a cool looking sub. It looks like an aircraft drop tank!

Here the latest photo of the model:

Base colors are applied as well as the decals.

Joe, the quality is similar (but a bit better) then a short run plastic kit. There are some tooling marks (from the molds manufacturing - it looks to be made on a cnc, but I can be wrong) but nothing to bad, but the engraved details look very good under some paint. It has been a very enjoyable experience.

Cheers

Bom dia Marco,

Now that you have put some paint on the sub, which looks super,
I can see that the hull detail is quite crisp.

Very nice sub!... looking forward to seeing more.

Joe

Here are a few more photos. They show the scratch built sensors (with the exception of the radar type antenna, which is a p.e. part supplied in the kit) and the first steps in weathering.

I hope to complete it soon.

Cheers

Outstanding work, Marco! It can be hard to make an interesting display from such a simple kit, but you have made the most it. Well done!

Yes, this is well turned out. What did you use to create the handrail on the sail?
