The fascia s are from Airscale Etched Cockpit detail sets in 1/32 & 1/48 picked up in Telford some years back with this in mind.


I'm calling this done bar touching up and some window dressing to be added.......

Joe no laws of physics have been broken so far.
I always intended to post this build on here as posted at the start. I tried for ages to post pis with no success, recently that has changed hence we are now playing catch up.

I hear what you are saying, I think we are going to need LED lights in there.

Window dressing completed !

I've added the clock complete with brass bezel and mahogany back. Illustrations of the signal flags that I believe were in use at that time.


Signal pad and pencil


Mug and head phones. Radio spares in a packing case.


Next came the split doors into the alley way. Vent louvres form by drawing onto foil laid on a cutting mat, gives a good impression if you'll pardon the pun


This gives the idea of what's viewable through the side. Difficult to capture on a pocket camera but you get the idea. The addition of LEDs will increase viewability....



Hope you approve of my Radio Shack and do bear in mind this is buried in the bowels of the vessel

Yes brought back memories for me as well. For those not in the Know the red/green sectors are silence periods i.e. listen out for emergency traffic.

Joe the wood is quite simple. I used Tamiya light beige/brown (tends to streak when hand painted). Dragged across this raw umber/burnt sienna oils to get the grain effect.
