First try at water. Tamiya 1/700 Mogami. I followed an articcle in FSM - April 2016 (IIRC) - 'Sculpting Rough Seas'
Excellent article. And aside from static clinging bits of insulation foam, very easy to do... Though, I need to practice more with the synthetic fiber and gloss gel to get nice wave/spray/splash effects.

Nice, Peter, especially for a first effort! I hate to think how crude my own first attempt at seas was... you are off to a great start!

Peter, Your initial attempt at water looks great. Can't wait to see how it develops over time.

That looks great! What synthetic fiber did you use? I tried some cotton balls, a la Chris Flodberg, but they look awful. Or perhaps does anyone know if their is a better grade of cotton to look for?

Rick,

I use Rayon as a replacement for the cotton. It does not have the clumps that are usually found in cotton balls.

Otherwise known as "batting" material and found in fabric stores. Looks great by the way.

Russ and David,

Thanks for your suggestion, that is what I picked up earlier today. Going to give it a try and see what I get.

Cheers,
Rick
