I want to model something like the Tamiya 1/350 USS Enterprise but in the smaller scale, meaning I want to have a typical ’80/’90s air wing with A-6E, A-7E, F-14A and F/A-18A or C, all in low-viz.
For such a subject, what would be the best starting point?
I’m looking at this one and just ’modernize’ the air wing, could it work?

Trumpeter’s other offerings are of ships as seen in 2005 or similar, or much earlier.
Thanks a lot for any help!

I have built a Trumpy 700 Nimitz and the detail is first rate. The only other one would be a 720 from Italeri and is very dated. Trumpeter is your best bet....Cheers mark

Thanks Mark, Trumpeter it is then!
But I still wonder which version would be the best for a 80s/90s era carrier.
Getting the proper Tomcats and Hornets in that scale seems to be less of a problem, and perhaps the differences in ship details are minimal...
