The USS Gabrielle Gifford recently tested the Naval Strike Missile. Looking at the footage and at photos I was unable to identify the Launcher boxes used. Try as I might I haven't found anything online. I even tried Raytheon's website to see of they had it.

The reason for this is I have never liked the look of the Independence Class LCS's BUT something about the 2 launchers bolted onto her has changed the whole look of the vessel and I am seriously considering building her with these weapons.

Any help identifying the launchers would be a big help.

Hi Rory,

you have the answer yourself in your post, when you started with stating that they recently tested the Naval Strike Missile. Well, that's what is in the launcher.

With Raytheon you're looking the wrong way - try Kongsberg and NSM, they are Norwegian missiles.

Rory,

To expand on Jan's good reply, the Kongsberg NSM is a quasi-modular launcher, comes in a number of configurations: 1 cell, 2 cell, 4, cell etc. Here's a pic of LCS 10 carrying a 1 cell and a 2 cell launcher:

@ Kip and Jan.

Thank you for the information. Looks like there isn't a resin set of launchers like that yet or my search-fu just isn't good enough.

I will keep an eye out.

Well, I don't know for the launcher on it's own or different scales, however, Dodo Models offers a 1/700 Norwegian Nansen-Class frigate ( http://www.dodo-models.com/7002.html ) sure enough with the proper launchers. So in general they do exist in the modeling world...

Cheers

With the NSM now in service with at least six nations, perhaps one of the 3D aftermarket parts companies will take notice and offer it.
