Apparently it is legit and Airfix really are looking to see if there is interest.
So, if you are interested, maybe drop them a line and let them know

One one hand I want to say YES! Produce the kit because more options and kits are always welcome and great.
On the other hand, I will likely never pick one up. I typically buy kits that have either Historical Significance or are aesthetically pleasing to me. Sadly, the QE's are neither. They are untried platforms and to my eye are not very attractive.
But that's just me and my opinion. I know there are many who are itching to get their grubby little paws on one of these kits.

I second Rory's thoughts. I know a lot of folks want the QE and PoW though and I would support production of these kits.
Personally I wish Airfix or someone would produce RN, and Commonwealth destroyers and frigates in 1/350. I think there would be a better market for them as long as they were of high quality.

Saw this up at Telford, at the time I will admit I was not sure if it was a hoax or not.
From a personal point of view a QE is not something I would have an interest in.
I am with Chuck on this one, The Only British / Commonwealth destroyer or escort in 1/350 in plastic is the Trumpy Tribal, which does have the odd issue or two, that and the Mirage Flower, the only other options are Resin.
Cheers

Don't forget the Showcase Models HMS/HMAS Vendetta!
Russell: Flyhawk and IBG don't seem to have any trouble finding research material, although so far they have confined themselves to WWII RN DD's

Rory, unfortunately Showcase Models closed down in 2016 when the owner passed away![]()

Latest edition of the Airfix work bench is looking for expressions of interest for a possible 1/350 kit of the QE/POW, so if you're interested, be sure to let them know at [email protected]![]()
PS, you need to scroll nearly all the way to the bottom

and their first foray into 1/350, just in time for me to finish the KGV!![]()
Flyhawk 1/350 HMS Prince of Wales
I tell you what, if they do a set of decent plastic F-35's then they can have all my money. I have only seen resin or 3D printed versions out there and they are silly expensive.
Hi Russ,
My eyes cannot cope with 1/700th any more.
Now, if they scaled those, and some of the other kits up to 1/350th,
Yes Please!!!!
Cheers

Rory, I suspect at some point decent F-35's in 1/350 are a certainty, either via AM producers or the kit manufacturer's themselves, given that there are a number of USN vessels also using the F-35B that are already kitted up. Whether Airfix do a good job of them or not is another thing

You're not alone there Si! 1/700 isn't for me either, but if the Lusty class are to be released in 1/700 then their 1/350 big brothers can't be that far off either now!![]()
I have got everything crossed (which is mildly uncomfortable)
Let's hope so, I will be give their POW in 1/350 a try.
