Purchased Lindberg's 1:60 scale shrimp boat model to build her like Forest Gump's 'Jenny' shrimp boat. As soon as I can figure out how to upload photos in this site, I'll be on my way. Any help certainly appreciated !!!

I love those little working boats. The Lindberg kits are pretty plain Jane, but with some scratchbuilding and work can be built up into a really nice model.
I'll be following this.

Hello Robert,
I built that ex-Pyro Shrimp Boat (then packaged by Lindberg as the "Aquarius") as a kid. A lovely kit, I wished then I had the skills to do her justice. I look forward to watching your effort progress!

Well, I certainly apologize for falling off the map for so long. Life issues and health slowed me down for a bit. I've done quite a bit of work on my Jenny shrimp boat. I'm at the point now where I am installing the outriggers, boom for nets and rigging. Here are some photos of my work. Built interior for the cabin. Did a lot of weathering (that still is ongoing). Salt and hairspray technique on hull. Built compartment under the smokestack using Evergreen plastics. Wheel unit made from sprues, Evergreen and wire.Forest's 1st haul: toilet seat, boot, misc crud. Installed Pico sized LED light inside of cabin.
Here is a still of the Jenny from the movie, Forest Gump. Not too many stills to work with but they are my reference for my build.

Robert,
Your Jenny is looking fantastic! Please, post more of your pictures like the 4th image in your last post. The small ones require opening up individually to see. Bleh.
Anyway, your modeling is first rate. Keep it up!

Robert,
Great work. You show that these old kits can rival today's offerings. Excellent work.

Many thanks for leaving your comments on my Jenny. Waiting for some sheaves to arrive so I can continue with the rigging. I'm going to build a lobster trap as a base for the boat. It can hide the coin battery and switch.

I've put in some work on the mast, boom and scratch built ladder. I've drilled some holes near the ends of the outriggers and on the boom in order to hook up my pulleys and blocks. I'm still waiting for my sheaves that I ordered from Canada to arrive.
I did a test fit to see how it will look with everything attached to the deck. Photos soon to post. PostImage is doing maintenance. Figures!

Finishing up on Lt. Dan. I used one of the figures from the kit and removed his lower legs. I built up the longer hair by using white glue. I used some red thread from my wife's craft stash to create his headband. He will be sitting atop the try net boom along with the American flag.
Thanks Tim for the tip on images!

No problem Robert.
I’m loving this build! The original Jenny shrimp boat from Forrest Gump film was on display for a while beside Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney in Disney World, Florida.
Apparently it was exhibited there until 2014 when it was displaced by new construction – current whereabouts unknown...
