How to make life-belts in 1/350?

OK, it's not exactly superdetailing, but this was the closest flair I could find.

Anyhow, it's kind of a silly question, because a lifebelt, after all, is a circle... How do people replicate them in 1/350? Just flat PE (or any) circles? Something more three dimensional? Thank you for the advice!

Find some fine plastic tubing (Evergreen, etc.) and round off the edge at the end, and cut off about 1 mm of that end - repeat - repeat - ... You can also buy PE sets of life rings, but since they are PE they will be flat!

Hi Andras,

You can certainly make them yourself, and there are photoetch options out there too, but the best I've seen so far are the resin life rings by North Star.

1/350 Life Rings

They are a bit expensive, but they are first-rate, consistent, and very easy to use.

Thank you both for the response! I think I will check out the resin product, but I really need a few fast, so I am trying the Evergreen version as well...
