I'm going to build the HMS Tenedos which comes as part of the larger HMS Cornwall kit from Aoshima. It's a simple kit because it was a simple ship and shouldn't take to long to finish.

Even tho it's labeled Cornwall it's not
There are only 4 sprues (Two are the same) but there are option parts that I'll cover during the build

Hi Steve,

Intersting looking little destroyer, I was surprised to find out how many of these old Admiralty S class destroyers survived into WW2.

Will be along for the ride.

Cheers

Eleven of the 54 Admiralty "S" class were still around at the start of WWII. Five were sent to the Far East. I would expect to see one or two more put out as several others were sunk in action with the IJN and one, the Thracian, was captured at Hong Kong and later used by the IJN.
Note the differences in size. From top to bottom: Z-37, Fletcher, Glowworm then Tenedos

The hull assembled and ready to be painted

I'm curious, why HMS Tenedos?

According to Wikipedia, she did have eventful service:

Tenedos laid defensive minefields around Singapore and Malaya, 1939–41 and formed part of Force Z during the ill-fated sortie in which Prince of Wales and Repulse were sunk. Tenedos was assigned to the ABDA Western Striking Force, and escaped to Ceylon in March 1942 following the Japanese invasion of Java. Tenedos was later sunk by Japanese carrier aircraft at Colombo, 5 April 1942.

Why? Because she did have such an interesting history
One of the first things i noticed was how close the portholes in the forecastle were to the deck edge and I thought it was an error in the kit , but pics show that's exactly how they looked

The 2pdr pom-pom platform looked too bare, so I decided to add some railing. first I found an appropriate sized drill bit to act as a mandrel

then formed the rail into a circle on the bit and then set it on the bench

I put a drop of CA on this plastic whatever, dipped the rail into the drop of CA and then placed it with tweezers on the platform.

Later I squeezed out another drop of glue and used this to add a bead of CA to the part/rail joint

I left the part on the sprue to make it easier to handle

the lower bridge assembly. It is three pieces and there are no locating pins so you will have to take some care aligning them.

The stacks also do not have alignment pins and do need their seams filled

The assembled main guns. They have just 2 parts, the shield assembly and the barrel. Not a lot of detail. I like to leave small parts on the sprue for assembly because I find them easier to handle

The instructions say that part C8 should be used for the rear set of tubes, but the rear set has the search light platform mounted on it and you need to use part B7 which has a locating hole in it for part 19 . Part 19 is shown mounted on the tubes. More parts will be on top of those

Steve,

At times not having a locating pin is a blessing.

Nice progress Steve,

Like your method of building small sub assemblies attached to the sprue.

Cheers

The deck painted with lifecolor 507b then masked with micro scale liquid mask.
