Hello Chaps,
I am an armour modeller who has decided to delve into the sea for a brief cruise. My father served in the RCN during WWII aboard the Frigate HMCS Orkney. As it is his 80th birthday this year, I thought I would build him a model of his ship. I found the Skytrex 1:350th scale river Class Frigate in white metal and was wondering if anyone has built this model and do they have any comments?

Hi Trackjam,
There's a review of this kit at SMML. Here's the link.

I just received the kit in the mail. Surprising fast delivery. Looks interesting. Needs some handrails though. will post in progress photos shortly.

Speaking of River Class Frigates, does anyone remember the movie about the British ship stuck on a river in China, by the Chinese during the late 40's or early 50's...........
Saw it only once years ago on TMC, and seems to have disappeared. And I don't remember the name of the movie or ship, but was a rather interesting true story.

Dave, that was the famous 'Yangtze Incident' and the ship was HMS Amethyst.
