Here is some photo's of a Aoshima 1/700 IJN Battleship Mutsu I built about 3 years ago. The Mutsu was the sister ship of the famouse Nagato, only surviving IJN Battleship of WW-2. The Mutsu exsploded in port from a magazine fire. The Aoshima Mutsu and Nagato are new tooled kits. And are Some of the best made 1/700 kits that I have built! Great fit and very nice detail. Here are the photo's.

Cheers,

Hi Garry!!

You've got a very nice model there!
I am still wondering what I am going to make in this campaign...

Still, back to Mutsu - my only complaint is that you used the wrong color to paint the pilots eye :-)
Just kiding Garry!!
Nowe for real - have you considered rig Mutsu?

Very nice Garry!!

I love the wave effects on your water...it's sooooo...wavy dude!! :-)

But the color could be tweaked just a bit...a touch more blue...

(At this point, I can see Garry spray painting his wife's dining room table...then putting the blame on me...lol)

Great looking models Martin! Ya know, these 1/700 IJN kits never seem to go out of style. And I never get tired of looking at them! I think I have built every one of them. And I am ready to build them again! This time better I hope. LOL!

Good work Martin!

Yeah, there is just something about them - they are fun to build and great looking ships. I have a few more almost done, if I can just find the time, maybe I'll actually finish something!!

Tell you the truth, I never got into the Jap ships. For my money, there is nothing nicer looking than those fine lines of a Bismark. Looks like it spells doom but at the same time invates you to gawk at it with your jaw hanging down wondering how such a fine looking ship could be so deadly.
