I have the 1/700 Skywave/Pit Road Liberty Ship Bootes. Was the anti-aircraft armament on Liberty Ships standardized, or was it mix-and-match depending upon what the ship's captain could appropriate, beg, steel, or barrow to arm his ship with?

It was pretty much standardised. Individual ships may have carried different numbers of 20mm depending upon their area of operations but the larger caliber guns and 40mm mounts were common.........Mike T

There are some differences between Liberty ships based on where and when built. Thou differences were minor. Best is to base off some references photos. I don't think anybody could prove you wrong.
