Hi all,
A while back I asked if you knew what type of boat was used to push the raft in this picture https://armorama.kitmaker.net/photos/showphoto.php?photo=60140&password=&sort=8&cat=500&page=1. One person pointed me to this text: “…There each raft was built by connecting two bridge floats with aluminum decking, and a quad-.50 was mounted on each of the platforms. The construction was completed in one day. Additional firepower for each raft was provided by six .30 caliber machine guns, and provision was made for riflemen and grenadiers behind sandbags to be on both the floats and the platform. Eventually dubbed Monitors, each raft was propelled by a 27-foot utility boat…”

(This text is from http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/vietnam/90-7/ch6.htm)

So now, surprise ;-), my question is: does anyone know what this 27-foot utility boat exactly is? And what it looks like? Or where I might get more info about this boat? (pictures or drawings would be more than welcome).
Could it be that it is one of these boats in the ‘waterskiing-picture’ at this page (thanks jRatz)? http://www.3rdbridge.org/page11.html ...is that a 27-foot utility boat maybe?

Btw if you’re getting tired of me going on about this raft, I’m sorry, let me know; and I’ll see what I can do
(oh and I will post some pics soon of the m4t6 pontoons I’m working on)

Thanks again
Mark

Hi Mark!
The boat pulling the water skier in the photo is more like a 16 or 18 foot utility boat. 27 foot would be a big boat!

Hi Mark...

Please check this link:
Raft

I know that they also made a set with four rafts and a psp platting bridge... but I can't find it...

Although it's no longer in production it seems like the one on the pics - sorry for the teasing, though
