I'm stuck. What colour is the decking and tie-down points on Japanese W.W 2 aircraft carriers. I can only find b.w pictures on the net and in any of my books (not that i have got a lot of them mind). What i really need is some colour photos of real or model ships showing the decking. The reason i'm asking is that i have decided to build as many 1/48 Japanese carrier aircraft that i can find and i want to turn the shelf they sit on into a carrier deck (it will look better than just a shelf).

Although no description of colors is mentioned, I know that WEM have Deck Tan(Reference #IJN 09)
on their Colourcoats brand.

EDIT: Also look at the Article mentioned... In the last paragraph, Eric Whipple state the colors he used to achieve that result and it is a great building article!
