My e-friend Max from Japan posted the following websites about a Yamato museum in Kure Japan, the birthplace of the Yamato.

Like the URLs about the Yamato movie these are in Japanese but you get some of the drift. Max says the model of the ship is 1/10 scale, weight abouts 30 tons, can float, and if they put a motor on the screw it can move.
