My memory is pretty fuzzy these days....Is this the ship that was bought from some European country a couple of years ago and sailed back to the USA by a bunch of veterans? Or was that a Liberty ship? Like I said, my way back machine doesn't work so well these days.

She was purchased back from the Greek Navy. She is the sole surviving LST in the world. She fought at Normandy. She is on the cover of the Squadron LST Book. There is one other picture of her in the Squadron book, a picture of her completely beached at Normandy at low tide (She is high and dry).

Side trip time. I'm here on vacation and this happens! How cool is that! I'd heard it was here on Saturday at the Buzzards Bay Hobbt Shop, but didn't get the particulars. The local paper missed the, ah, boat, if you will in covering this.
