Ahoy, Mates!
Well here we are, 1 week into this most excellent campaign...How are we all doing so far? I've just been notified that we have some new crewmates, thanks to the very generous offer from Blade48mrd (Mike Durr)...So lets have a healthy and hearty yo ho ho of a welcome for the following five, Mother, Major-Goose, Moezilla, Andy007, and Redneck...

You see, Blade made an offer earlier to any member of the Big A out there, a choice of warship model kits that he so graciously donated...Yep that's right, if you wanted to build a ship model for this campaign, then Blade would provide you with a kit to build...no strings attached...all you had to do was to sign up for the campaign (and don't forget to do this you newbies!! ) and he would send you a kit free of charge! One heck-uv-an offer if you ask me!!
Well, it seems that Mike has four more of these special kits left, on a first come first served basis, and if you would like to take a chance at building one of these beauties in this campaign, then give mike a pm asap! Here's what he has left to offer:

1. 1/700 Tamiya British Battleship "hms Nelson"
2. 1/700 Tamiya German Battleship "Gneisanau"
3. 1/700 Fujimi Japanese Battleship "Haruna"
4. 1/700 Fujimi Japanese Battleship "Hiel"

So how about it, folks? Here is a golden opportunity to build something that you may never have before, and to join in with a bunch of other salts and learn a little more about these big beauties that we are honoring with this campaign...all you gotta do is get ahold of Mike and let him know which kit you would like to build, and then get busy!
I want to take this opportunity to thank Mike for this very generous offer that he has made to all of us here at the big "A", something that isn't very easy to find now a days...you're a real special person, Blade, and my hat is off to you, sir.
Sincerely,
Mark " Gunny " Smith

Hey Thanks for those kind words Gunny -

This was an idea that Garry Beebe really started back when he came up with and proposed the "Dreadnoughts" last year. Garry thought it would be a great way to get some of us modelers (like myself)who hadn't done a warship in years back into it. Also it would give others the opportunity to "try" it without having to worry about the expense taken away from their particular modeling interest. Anyway, those are the 1/700th "Waterline" kits I have left though I know I've got a few more in an old packing box somewhere. Now if I could only remember where "somewhere" is. When I find them, I'll add them to the list. Send me a PM if you're interested in trying a "floaty thing".
So more than anything, this is a tribute (as is the whole Campaign) to Garry Beebe. I feel privileged to follow in his example.

Well said, Mike...this campaign wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for Gary, and I truly think that what you're doing is just terrific...I myself am extremely honored to have the opportunity to help keep the fire burning that was generated here at Armorama by Gary's love of the hobby, his knowledge, and his unselfish attitude that he had towards anyone that needed a hand...
