Just posted, news of a future release from Dragon Models in 1/700th Scale - the U.S.S. Lexington (CV - 16). This new kit has some very interesting features and is definitely one to attract modellers from other spheres of interest... The full story can be seen.

Interesting. A transparent flight deck to show the interior details? That sounds like a first to me. Responding to your "digs" against 1/350, at least us old farts who can barely see can see the pieces for it. :-)

This now seems to be standard on all their carrier kits. The aircraft are all transapent as well - makes not painting cockpits a dawdle :-)

I was just bemoaning the lack of space I have, personally, i'd be happier building 1/350th as well...Jim

The USS Essex CV-9 already has the double deck feature (transparent and regular). The detail is great and the planes are gems

This (CV-9) will be my entry for flattops

Since it's one of my old ships..... I just may have to pick one up.
OF COURSE I KNOW .... I'm too blind to see 1/700 scale.

The parts are not much smaller than the details your are scratchbuilding and adding to your sherman
Go for it
