all in 1/72nd,
airfix Vosper 73' MTB and the revell of Germany Vosper MTB?
and also the Revell of Germany PT 117 and the PT-109 Elco 80' torp boat?

Hi Jason,
I can't comment on the PT boats, but there were many different versions of the Vosper MTBs, and this is responsible for the difference between the Airfix & Revell kits.
The Airfix kit has more parts & better detail, and (if memory serves me correctly) is of a later boat than the Revell kit. The Airfix kit is of a type that could be upgraded to carry heavier armament too, giving them the nickname of 'mosquito boats' ; in particular the Molins 6pdr gun as fitted to Mosquito fighter-bombers was mounted on the foredeck.

Bender,
Don't know if this is any good to you but have a quick look if your not familiar with the company. Can't comment on quality etc. But some interesting updates.

Dave's right, the Airfix and Revell Vospers are models of very different boats. For an idea of the differences have a look at the ones in this link
http://modelingmadness.com/kitindex/ships.htm
Both are old mouldings now, though the Airfix one is way better, even if mistakes flare launchers for 0.5" guns.

Hi Jason
Already stated by some members, but here goes my input:
MTB's:
Airfix: Although an old mold, is still a good representation of the Chanel and Med 73' MTB's
Revell: it appears that this MTB is a mod of MTB's sent to Russia as help, although I have never found any picture of one like this! Have found some of similar, but..
It makes a nice looking boat though! Even if the torpedo tubes look a little bit off scale
Elco 80 feet PT-Boats (PT-109 x PT-117)
The same Revell mold from early 1960's - it has some errors (like the planked deck) but the shape and dimensions are accurate. with some work it makes a good looking and impressive model.
Just my 2 (euro) cents

The PE sets from D J Parkins (linked above by Allycat) will be of very high quality I should imagine, though not cheap. I haven't used the MTB sets but have built most of the 1/72 corvette sets, and they are excellent!
