ok.......

Considering the JAG kit..... any decals to do the Bow numbers?

What Set is this refering to "US Navy Destroyers"
http://www.steelnavy.com/jsgearin.htm
is it the "netting" set? Is there any other PE sets that I should consider?

Decals / dry transfers for the Bow numbers?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt

Sorry for the late reply - but I have been away for some time and only got back to "duty" yesterday

Regarding the JAG model of the Gearing, didn't it had a decal sheet?
If not, or if you loose it, I can reccomend two things:
- Contact JAG and tell them about your decal situation;
- Buy a 1/700 US Numbers decal sheet - they should have small numbers to the Gearing bow...

As for the PE Set that you mention in your post, although I don't know that particular set, I know that with some work you can use this for the raillings, radars, and some more tricky blinding things

As you can see it's the GoldMetalModels Modern US and JSDN Destroyer set

The decals:

Hope this helped

I don't have it yet. But i didn't see a decal sheet in the review. (it might not have the USS Miles C. Fox numbers anyway) Hopefilly Squadron carries all thet stuff so I can get it all from 1 source.

Hi Matt

Considering the only Ship model that I have from JAG (Forrest Sherman), appart from optional resin parts, you also get optional PE Radar and decals for all the ships in the class (hull numbers and names for the stern).
The PE set included is for all the tricky and delicate parts, and the only thing you should get are raillings and net guards for the helipad (both are included on that set that I have mentioned earlier)

In case of doubt, contact JAG Collective and ask them

Skipper

EDIT:
It does NOT include decals!

Hi Matt

Have you considered using WEM Colourcoats range?
They have the pin point colour shades for most navies, including of course the Post WWII USN grays.... They are enamels and are what I use. For other brands have to check

I'm just trying to stick to what I can get locally with paint... I'm open to options though.

Wow, I dunno how I missed this one, sorry Matt!

Good show with scoring custom decals from JAG, mate, and you have a really nice kit to build for the challenge if you get this one chosen for you by the GP...I'm gonna have to side with Rui on the Colourcoats, my friend, and they are available readily here in the US from a few outlets...you won't go wrong anytime with them, the colors are spot on, 100%, dude...and personally, I hope you do get to build this one!

I'll look into them. I have yet to order the kit... Funds and other issues came up at the time... but I'm ready to order it if need be. The gearing was put out without any... and they never really went back and added any after the fact like they inculded with the kit. they said they'd do a set for the kit for me though.
