Just found a 1/144 XXI-class u-boat in the local store here. How's Mini Hobby Models in general? If I'm not wrong this is a motorized model.

Hi "ricohdvdr6"
Th minihobby models were made from the Revell mold - at least the Type XXI
It has some "strange" parts that make the working model - but if ignore and repair the holes made - you get a good type XXI U-boat

Hello Skipper and Ricohdvdr6,
How are you all ? Please allow me to add some info.
MHM which is a branch of Trumpeter produces
the Type XXI in 1:144 scale and 2 variants of the Type IX
in 1:200 scale.
The Type XXI has been copied and modified from the
Revell u-boat and the Type IX- B & C variants are copied
from the Nichimo u-boats. They are definitely not from
the same molds.
After careful inspection of the kits, I can attest that many of
the parts are quite different in size and shape.
Nevertheless, once you clean up these kits, they will build
into fine models.
Unfortunately, both the original Revell U-2518 (full hull)
and the Nichimo kits have become very hard to find but
are still around. The Revell Type XXI(with interior) is
still in our hobby shops here in Montreal.
Have a nice day and happy modelling,
