What would be the correct color of gray to paint the Arizona (by Banner)? SInce I build ships for relaxation I will be spray bombing the gray. Your assistance is grealty appreciated. I have also heard that the Trumpeter WWII carriers are in country. Any thoughts on that....

Try this website. Scroll down to the bottom. I think Arizona was ms. 1, which is mostly haze grey.

MS1 means Measure One; the camo was dark gray lower and light gray above the funnels...this is the classic Pearl Harbor scheme for the navy, applied in late '41 when hostilities were imminent.
Vertical Surfaces:
All approximately vertical surfaces above the top of the stacks shall be painted Light Gray 5-L.
Horizontal Surfaces:
All horizontal surfaces except wood decks shall be painted Dark Gray 5-D. The systems differ only in the painting of the vertical surfaces. In case of doubt, as on sloping surfaces, use Dark Gray 5-D.

If you do a google image search, you will likely find some pre-war images when the fleet was in a light gray scheme...classic look.

The big (and I mean BIG!) 1/72 scale models of the Arizona that are in the USS Arizona Memorial Museum and Interpretive Center at Pearl Harbor are in what I believe to be Measure 1. The hull and super-structure are a medium dark gray, and the fighting tops above the level of the stack are a very light gray---decks are holy-stoned teak.
There are two models of the Arizona at the museum, one as she was before the attack, and another as she is today with the Arizona Memorial atop her sunken hull with two 1/72 scale Navy divers swimming alongside her hull for scale. The models are something between 6 and 7 feet long and about 2 1/2 feet tall and wide inside their display cases.
