Hi Jim
Finnaly I was able to reply
Thanks for sharing this new update on the HL Hunley!
Without running away from your News Report, I might say that the HL Hunley is one of the most reproduced submarines (and not always in the best way)...
So let's see:
1/72
- 12 Square Injection model (a little crude, innacurate, only injection plastic hunley to date)
- Cottage Industries Models (CIM) One of the best models to date (perhaps excluding this late one in 1/24)
- Lonestar Models resin, made after the Hunley mock up (innacurate)
1/35
- Verlinden resin, full hull and waterline in one box (good value for the money, some inaccuracies on th espar torpedo)
1/32 or 54mm
- CIM full hull (innaccurate) Early 90's release
- CIM full hull with interior (based on the first one)
- Cottage Industries most accurate of this scale, rather expensive, figurines available to make a diorama like Chpaman's Painting
1/24
- This one.... It appears to be the "Ultimate Hunley!", but in a scale not very common to this kind of vessels
For information about the real HL Hunley you can also go here http://www.hunley.org/

Now THAT'S an interesting kit. I can't say I'll be running out and getting one, but I'd sure love to see one built at some model convention. Maybe somebody will have it at the Nationals this year.
I have the Clive Cussler book where he writes about the crew that found the Hunley. I got a kick out of one section. They had found the Hunley, and that night drove over to a museum that had a full size replica of her on display outside. They were saying, "That's wrong, and that's wrong, and this is wrong, and WE'RE the only people in the world who know!" That must have been quite a moment.

Hi Rodger (and all)
Some of the models used as reference drawing from the period and most of them were not technical
Even the replica suffers from the same disease
On opposition, Chapman's painting is very accurate, especially when now confronting with the reaminings and everyday they discover more and more
I will stick with my Hunleys....
Of the list above I have all but the 1/24 and the Cottage Industries ones - and I might say that I have enough Hunleys for now

That seems to be happening to some people, at some times. Like for example one person reported not being able to see the cruiser page either, with the same error message.
