Here are a few pics of my Albatros all wood kit its a single plank on bulk head build, this ships is a lot more accurate than the last one i finished and it has a better look. As with the last ship i wanted a clean look without the weathering and this ship has almost nothing painted to show off the wood. As always any and all questions and comments welcome.

That is truly beautiful work! How long did it take you? Did the sails come ready to use or did you have to put the stitching around them yourself?

thanks for your comment, I can't find the original post but i think the total working time was about 4 months, the sails came as a sheet of cloth so i had to cut them and sew the seems on a sewing machine, the tan cord around the edges had to be hand sewed. All the spars and booms are rigged on not glued if the rigging was cut they would fall off just like a real ship.

Wow, I like your style, a clean boat without weathering. You have done well with the wood and ropes, mate. Congratulations.

I have writtenan article about making your own display case in Armorama. You can check it out and build one of your own if you like to:

How To Make your Own Display Case

I hope it helps.

Oh yes, VERY nice. There is just something so classic about a wooden sailing ship model. It belongs in a gentleman's study, along with a oak desk, leather chairs, and a nicely stocked liquor cabinite.

Great work and thanks for sharing.
