Gents,
Has anyone out there read or seen the book "History of the RN U-Class Submarines" ? Is the book worth getting ? With approximately 72 boats of the U and V class built, it should be interesting. That plus the fact there isn't very much about the RN boats on this side of the pond. Any information is appreciated, Thank You

Sorry Bruce,

Can't help you on this issue - th only book that I have dedicated to a single British submarine class is about K class - but this is a different story

David & Rui,
Thank you for the information. Walter's book is the book I am looking at. Even though I have no doubt it may leave quite a bit to be desired, it will start to give me an overview on the U-Class ops. And from what I have gathered off the net so far, there are plenty of modelling opportunities there. The Mirage kit will get quite a work out. In addition, John Lambert's terrific plans have given me several ideas. Thanks again....Bruce

Filipe,
I could not agree with you more. It always seems the U-Boats and US Gato's are fairly well covered, but everyone else is left out. Admittedly, Dolphin is starting to cover the Italian Navy with resin models at higher costs. As one who enjoys the smaller models, and doing conversions, Mirage and Marquette 1/400th scale plastic models will keep you busy for a while. They may not come out as Master-pieces, but decent models are possible. Hopefully, Mirage will continue the line, we'll see. Over to the crew ? Thoughts ?

Hi all

It seems that the most submarine models run around the "same old, same old"...
I am not complaining for having three 1/72 U-boot Typ VII-C, but as Filipe said it would be nice to have some different, but also important types - The British S-Class would be an excellent choice - we could even make a Portuguese Version of it

To my knowledge there's no Brit S-Class in any scale...
