:-) Hi Might seem like a daft question but I build aircraft so I don't have a clue when it comes to floating things. I have a mate who was a matlot in the Royal Navy, he is from Sheffield and his one regret is that he never served on the cities namesake. I have managed to get hold of a 1:700 model by Revell. My question is: What colour are the hull and superstructor and what colour are the decks?
Any help with this will be much appreciated.

For my Sheffield I used Model Master Light Ghost Gray for the hull and superstructure and MM Gunship Gray for the decks and horizontal surfaces. If you are into adventure, get the White Ensign Models (UK company) Type 42 photo-etch set.

Check out the news on TV today (Friday). RN aircraft carrier Ark Royal is preparing to sail to the Gulf with the Helicopter carrier Ocean and a few escorts are sure to be along. There was an item on the news today about the preparations. It may help you decide which colour will look right for what you are trying to achieve.
