Hello every body
I'm particularly interested in WWII history and in modeling.
I recently bought the old 1 :72 Revell (ex-matchbox) kit of the Snowberry flower-class
corvette.
My (Long term) project is to modify it into the ACONIT (free french navy), to améliorate and
detail it as far as possible. And I have some questions about hull construction :
1) How many rivets are used to join two plates of a same strake ?
2) Which diameter are rivet’s heads used in shell assembling (50 mm ?)
3) Are plates riveted to each frame ? (or only to one of two or one of three or…) ?
NB : I didn't really find answers to these questions in Agassiz anatomy of a ship nor in John
Lambert's Warship Perspective.
Best regards
F. BAILLY
