Can anyone tell me how far the third Ark's midships armoured belt would have extended below her waterline? Thanks

Graham, I'll be totally honest with ya mate, I've got photo's of the Ark, and many writings, but nothing of the ship specifications...I hate to see a post go unanswered, but I've been working on an answer for you since you first posted this query to no avail...

Hi Graham
I am not a ship modeller but I was being nosey.I you go to www.maritime quest.com you can see a photo taken from directly astern of the Ark after she was torpedoed. The armour belt is visible to well below the waterline in the photo. It should give you some idea of how far it goes.

Hi Dennis
Thanks for the reply. I'd seen those pics already in fact, and must admit I can't make out the info I needed from them! Clearest one to my eyes was this one, which is what I've used to add the belt down to the waterline
Shan't get too worried about it though, as I'm far from being a rivet counter! Thanks again

It's possible that the bottom corner of the armour belt is visible in this picture - if it's not a reflection or some other artefact.....
