Ahoy matey,

I just got the 1/72 Revell Schnellboot kit but not sure how to build it. I have never build a ship before so your expertise is most welcome.

Is this a good kit? I plan to build it OOB.

Should I build the whole thing first or build and paint as I go?

What to watch out for?

Thank you gentlemen,

WC

There should be quite a few reviews/build articles right here on MSW and Armorama WC; also take a look here

I have this kit in my stash, haven't yet started her but from looking in the box I think she'll build into a very nice model OOB. As for painting, I personally would paint as you build, but that's just my preference.

Main thing - have fun building her! Oh, and post some pics for us too please...

Ahoy, Benjamin!
You made a good choice, mate, because, IMHO, the Revell S-100 is one of the best kits around for the scale and subject...it builds rather easily OOB, and is quite accurate as such, but there are some DYN-O-MITE A/M sets (WEM and Eduard) that increase the accuracy by 110%.
Rip sent you a great link, read Jeff's words, and remember them...he builds a super Scnellboot, Bro...keep us posted on your progress!

If you haven't started the building yet, I would like to suggest you to wait. There's a PT-boat campain pending to be approved for starting on April 1 2007. If you can wait that long, you may find some people building same subject at the same time. I will pick Revell S-boat as well but I won't start until June 2007 during school summer break. Check out Campain thread in which Gunny provides me a very good link. Make sure you check other reference links as well from the article.

Best Regards,
Steven

Please don't forget to enlist to the campain so that we can have enough participants to get the campain approved, if you haven't done so yet.

Steven
