Hallo everybody

Maybe a stupid question but I am unknown in the world of the subs. I build now my first U boat ever in my live and I am 56 !

I saw on the paint colour scheme of Revell the VIIID minelayer that a special type the U 217 was in a colour of silver with grey camouflage is this correct?/.i t sounds stranet to em that a sub is silver painted??

Also the difference between the VII and IX type underw ater the VII are dark painten and the IX are red is this correct??

I hope that somebody will and can give me explanation in this new world for me

Thanks en regards

There's a great article on U-Boat colors here:
http://www.rocketcopy.biz/models/rokket/uboat/ubrass.shtml

It's a PDF about halfway down the page. Hope it helps.

Hi Brandon, and me mate, Wink!

First of all, an active link from Mr. Grises' post for your convenience:

U-Boat Color Patterns

AND, keeping in context with Winks post, Brandon, and anyone else looking for some ESSENTIAL information for the VIIC and like variants, visit this link, spend some time looking around the entire website, and definitely download the two free .pdf files that are so graciously provided (FOR FREE!!!)

Happy Hunting!
