Finally got around to posting these.
Here are some pictures of the bridge and main gun for the Sakura destroyer.
I think the details look really good for a 1/700 kit. And not much putty was needed.
Also looks like I’m learning to use the camera better.

Looking good, Jacob!
The detail on 1/700 is amazing, isn't it? I really like to work in this scale, mate, a little more challenging, and alot less space is needed when youre done building! Keep up the good work, my friend, and keep us posted of your progress on the way!

Hi Jacob
Yes, they look good - although it could always be enhanced with some PE Sets, for ladders, hatches and some more details (radar screens, amongs others).
You have an excellent production rate, btw (compared with me)

The details are mush better then the other 2 ships I’ve worked on so they were a surprise.
Thanks Rui but I usually fell that I work to slow myself.
Anyway the PE will be left off this one but I’ll get to add plenty of the stuff when I get to the DEs.
Also I’ve already started the review of this kit so hopefully I’ll have if sent in within a few days of the kits completion.

Here’s some new shots.
And just ignore the rubber bands.
Almost have all the part on her.

Thanks guys.
Will Do.
:-)
Could be the rare bungee cord scheme. :-)
I’ve gotten the last of the pieces on last night so as soon as the shadows off of my porch I hope to take some pictures.

Sorry for the delay. Batteries died and it wasn’t until I uploaded some pictures to my computer this morning that I discovered these were still in the camera.
Here they are
All it needs now is paint and rigging.
Well and the base.

Looks like a couple of good, clean builds there, Jacob!
What's the next step? Are you going to start painting or start on the basework? Have you decided on what you're going to use for water yet?

Thanks Mark but actually its all the same ship.
Next I’ll be spraying the main color and adding the water line.
Then I’m not positive wether I’ll be doing the base or first or painting the details and rest.
For water I’ll be Trying Vallejo Water Effects. I’ll actually be using there Atlantic Blue and going for an Atlantic look as that’s what the real dio will get when I get to it.
I figure most people that look at it wont be able to tell its in the wrong ocean.
I’ll also be building the base myself and am thinking of trying it out of Oak to see how it looks. I’m just not yet sure how large I’ll be making it.

OOPS!
Jacob, how are you going to show the ship in the water? Will it be creating a heavy wake, or a light coasting wake? I'm quite interested in the Vallejo stuff, have you experimented with any of it yet?

I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be doing yet but it will probably be light. Will probably depend on how things go when I start.
I haven’t used any of it yet so I don’t know how it will work. The bottles sealed and I was afraid if I opened it to soon it might dry out some before I was ready to use it.

Hi Jacob,
Nice looking build there. Keep us posted on the water stuff, this is something I've yet to investigate, but I have a lot of water projects I'm working on and would be very interested to get some feedback.
Thanks for posting the pictures. Sounds like it will be a stormer dio when you done.
Cheers
