Having spent over two years building my model, and £100s on parts for her, it occurred to me that perhaps I should have her separately declared on my home insurance policy. Does anyone here have an idea of what I should state her value as? I don't have a clue personally...

Hi Graham

In our club annual expo, the models are always insured - just in case any problem occur.
I usually make this:
- Price of the model x 1.5
- AM parts x 1.5
- Work (estimate of €5 per hour)
- Rarebility Factor (I have some models long OOP and one 1/35 sub that only were made 12)
- Sentimental factor

This may sound stupid and the money received WILL NEVER pay for your work, love and care making the model, but in the worst case scenario you will have something to start again...

Hope this helps

Thanks Skipper, that gives me something to work from. Hmmm, how many hours did I spend over 2 + years?!
