Hallo everybody

I just finished my first sub ever build it is the U99 of Revell and started the building of the VIID of Revell the Mine layer type sub. Then I hope to be sofar with the experience that I can start with the larger scale the 1:72

However I have a model still awaiting for me the sub of Academy but it seems that there are no other U boats available in this scale or am I wrong ( I hope so)

Can somebody give me some info with others are available please

Thanks and regards

Wim

HI!
And welcome to subs

There is actually quite a selection of submarines from various manufacturers. revell will be reissuing the Type XXIII, and they also recently issued the modern German U212. Also, they have announced the Gato in 1/72.
Trumpeter also has some- they've announced a new Gato in 1/144, and have the Romeo, Kilo and Seawolf (all modern) in their catalogue.

There's sure to be more

Cheers,

Hi Brandon

The 1/144 submarine list is as follows:

Revell:
Typ 206
Typ 212
Typ XXI
Typ XXI Modified Willelm Bauer
TYp VII-D

ICM
Typ XXIII

Trumpeter
Kilo
USS Seawolf
Type 33 (Chinese built Russian Romeo Class)
Type 33G (Chinese modified Romeo Class)

I am not including the news releases like the Gato mentioned by Tvrtko

You have quite a selleccion here and the good part is, that most of this submarines are still available.

Hey Guys
I noticed this part of your post... "started the building of the VIID of Revell the Mine layer type sub. " .... I don't suppose you know of any shops in North America that might have them in stock yet??? Heck, I'll settle for a good shop that does mail order out of Europe! I haven't found a shop near me expecting these kits (Revell Germany 05009 Type VIID) much before November and I want Xmas early this year! Anybody have a release date for Eduard #17022 (the etch for this kit)???? I'll take both!!!
Cheers
Mark

Hello Mark, (Stonewall)
My LHS, here in Montreal, should receive the VII-D by August 16. They tell me that
it will sell for approx.$ 28.00CAD. If your interested, get back to me and I will
arrange to get one out to you. No date on the photo etch yet.
Regards,
Joe

It's a miracle!!! I stopped by a hobby shop I don't get to very often (its across town) and what do I find on the shelf, yup, a Type VIID from Revell Germany. Thanks for the offer to help Joe! I think I'll try this one out of the box and see if they can get another to go with Eduards etch when its released! Anyway I've got a sub to unwrap.
Cheers

Hey, Mark!
That's really great news, mate!!
Well, now that you have found the U-Boat that you wanted to build, why not join us in the presently on going Dive! Dive! Dive! 2 campaign, my friend!?
It's a great way to meet up, make friends, have fun, talk models, with modelers who share the same interests (and I guarantee you'll learn alot too...I have with every campaign I've ever been involved in! )
There's plenty of time to build, mate, so no pressure, it's all about modeling! If you want to know a little more, take a look HERE

And there's a special discussion for this campaign right HERE

So what do you think, mate? Either way, Mark, good luck with your build, keep us posted on your progress, and have fun!
Cheers!
~Gunny
