Hi Mark
Good news for the DDD2 late Campaigners and for all submarine fans!
I see a lot of potencial in the images you post for further developments in other kits from Trumpeter or for AM parts (conning tower/sail arrangements and weaponry).
A most awaited model indeed
Thanks for sharing

Ahoy All,
Hope everyone is fine...just received my copy of the Revell VII-D and
Trumpeter Gato...amazing!
Revell has done it again... they have brought to us a beautifully detailed
kit in 1:144 scale...in itself will build into a very nice model OOB but as
Gunny has said, there is PE coming from Eduard, to further enhance
the kit.
I couldn't resist of course an American Fleet sub since the only other is
the old Lionfish and I was curious to see what Trumpeter would give us
with this recent release.
The kit is beautifully scribed and is flash free. It will be an easy build OOB.
Personally, I find that the forward dive plane wells are not deep enough
and Trumpeter should have added a little more surface detail.
I am sure that the aftermarket people will bring us PE and tower variants
to further enhance this kit.
Both kits are certainly most welcome in this 1:144 scale and will look great
on display along with the ICM Type XXIII and the soon to be re-released
full hull Type XXI by Revell.
Have a nice day and happy modelling to you all !!!
Joe

Hi Brandon!
Yes, mate I do remember our conversation about this sub...hope it turns out as good as it is said to be!
Revells' Gato is still elusive, I haven't heard of a solid release date yet...lot's of rumors and such, and I'm sure it will be worth the wait (I can't imagine where I'm going to park a sub model that's nearly four feet long!

No worries Gunny, just place it on a shelf right above the headboard of your bed....we all know that your SWMBO won't mind a bit....right?

And with both Revell AG VII-C and VII-C/41 I am sure nobody will notice :-) :-)
Of course under the bed are the real monsters: Accurate Armour Typ XXIII and VII-C in 1/35

One thing that I have been saying for the last two years:
Space, I NEED space!!!!
