Hello,

I am bussy at the moment with the VII D type sub of Revell. I dont understand the after part of the drawing and it seems that there must be mistake in the drawing. On page 7 drawing nr 10 you must drille two whole's in the hull for both rudders which is clear. Then part 26 must be placed in the hull where I must see some whole's but they are not there. Also part 27 must be place partly into nr 26 but even that there is no whole.

Can somebody clear this to me or even can send me some photo's of that part please. I have recently build the older type U99 which was clearer to build than this type maybe I am wron ( lets hope)

thanks for the help
Wim

Hey Brandon

I ' sorry I can't help you out on this one.. I just threw away my manual for the VII-d, thinking it would not be of any use anymore, so the partnumber 26 doesn't ring a bell...

I can try to upload a pic which might explain something?

I'll see what i can do

good luck!!

Hi, in the next days, I'm going to buy this model. I donīt sure but I think that the simulation about rivets, hull is very good. If you can say me any reference about this model, I will be happy to know your opinion.
Thanks.
and sorry, I donīt help you about your problem.

Brandon, where I can see your u-99 model. have you any photographs?

Regards and happy modelling.

Hello Brandon,

Looks like part 27 does not sit on the flat surface as indicated in the instructions
but rather on the little notch further back on part 26, this will give you the correct
fit.

Are you still looking for the Andrew Jackson and the Type XXI w/ interiors?

Hope the info helps and post some pics of your builds.....nice job on U-99.

Have a nice day and happy modelling!

There are actually 3 that I know of:

The Revell AJ scale 1:200
The Revell Type XXI scale 1:144
The Revell Type VII (U-47) scale 1:125

The first two are quite nice kits, the interiors, although not quite accurate, are
fun to build. As for the Type VII (U-47) the interior is completely inaccurate but
if you are patient and love to scratchbuild then you can turn this into a nice
model.
There is a photo of a Type VII in 1:125 scale on one of the ship sites that
some unidentified modeler did a remarkable job on the interior.

Brandon,
I don't know if Joe answered your question or not. Since I am at present also working the Type VIID, I thought I'd try to help. Part 26 actually has two "slots" that fit into the central keel piece. And as Joe stated, part 27 actually "Traps" the lower rudder pivot points and glues up against the aft section of part 26. If you check the profile drawings shown later, these will help. If I can be of any assistance, just let me know.

Enjoy the build.....a Great model ! I can't wait to see what they follow it up with ? Take it easy .............................Bruce
