I’ve lost the post I was putting my updates for this in so heres a new one.

I’ve just got the paint of the Ship. Let me know what you guys think of it.

PS. I know the red line isn’t the straightest. most of it will be hidden my water on the base so I didn’t worry about it to much.

Looking good, neighbor!
Keep up the good work, and keep us posted! By the way, what did you decide with the anchor chains?

For now the chains are unpainted but I’m thinking I may try doing them with a pencil like someone suggested in the other post.

I think my next step is going to be to make the base. Thinking of trying oak.
Just have to get my router table set up again first.

Thanks Tomaz.

Its 1/700.
Also I’m doing this one as a test project before starting on a dio for my grandfather that will include the ship he was on during the Korean War.

Hi Jacob,

This will be grand when you have her finished, painted and mounted.

Which ship are you building for your Grandfather?

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Al

Thanks guys.

Al his Ship was the USS Maurice J. Manuel (DE-351).
The kit includes parts to build any 2 of the butler class ships so I’ll have it along side when of the sister ships. Just don’t know witch one yet.
I’ll also be adding PE to the 2 ships and the entire Dio will have a wood and glass display box built around it.

Really cant wait to get started on it.

Here’s a new picture of the painted kit.

Also I’ve gotten the base squared up and will hopefully router it this weekend.

I’ll add the rigging to the ship after its attached to the base. Less chance of bumping and damaging it.

That's the way to do it Jacob. She looks goo mate! Looks like she's going through some heavy seas. :-)
