Greetings all

Having had the board to play with for a few days, here's a possible change to the boat layout.

1. Loose most of the beach area, and bring what remains across to the sea wall at an angle that corresponds with the dog leg/top of the pier. (squared off). End the slipway at the or just past the sea wall, Shift the position of the dog leg and use the angle of the Lighthouse to create the shape at the end of the pier.

This frees up a lot of area. Put the LCP (R) behind the boats, switch the crane and cut back in the pier wall (steps) and shrink the main pier by an 1" which will still leave room for all the features. The wee boat could be tied to the sea wall as water will touch part of it.

The USN boat could then be beginning to reverse out of the harbour (churned water LOL, LOL). I have an used crew member who would be fine as skipper.

This would create more of a sense of movement yet loose none of the original features. Here's some pics:

Feedback needed.

Cheers

Al

I like that idea Alan. With the wonderful lighthouse and seawall, you want to keep your composition not so cluttered. This allows the viewer to focus of the main subject, the boats and then the surroundings. A sense of movement around the dio also helps focus the viewer on the subject.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I think if I position the USN boat slightly further away an at an angle within the open space and create the idea of it reversing it would help separate the boats and make it more interesting.

Now I have all three more or less build and the board it's easier to get an idea of how they will actually look and relate to each other.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Al
