Thanks for the info....looks like it is going to be an awesome model.
Those fleet boat lovers are going to be in heaven! Yes it is a big model
but it was about time someone paid attention to the subject.

As far as release date, I have been told that RoG and Revell/Monogram
have announced two different release dates. Also there seems to be a
price difference between the two kits on the retail level...20 bucks or so....
Uhhmmm...I wonder why?

1/07?! What happned to Oct/Nov/Dec? (Not that it matters, I won't be able to start until Feb or Mar or June really!

Well, the 1/07 is a projected date from Revell, and IMHO, will probably hit a little sooner. . .I think its a "C-Y-A" manuever, know what I mean?

There seems to be a discrepency in release dates for the Gato in 1:72 scale.
Here is the info that I have been able to pick up.

The kit is being issued by both companies Revell/Monogram and RoG.
Earlier this year I received a R/M catalogue and it announced the release
for late Oct.2006. RoG, on the other hand, has it announced on their site
as a Dec. 2006 release.

Now from my understanding, this was originally a R/M project but RoG was
asked to develop the molds. Now that R/M and RoG are officially two separate
firms, one may have retained certain rights but the other may have release priority.

This may explian why R/M announced their release date as being a few
months prior to RoG.

Let's wait and see and in the meantime we shall drool over the photos!
