Sorry for the delay. I needed to find 3 screws before I could use the router table.

Heres my base for the ship. Homemade from red oak.

Everything worked out fin but the edging is off a little on the back side of it. (Router bit “dropped” on me there. I think the router needs some work done to it. )

Anyone have any advice on attaching the ship to the base?

Nice work, Jacob, red oak, very nice. . .are you going to stain at all, or just a nice clear coat to bring out the beauty?

Personally, my friend, I would just glue 'er down with a little epoxy, and you should be good to go. . .I have dio's that I made when I was a teenager (MANY years ago!!) that are still holding strong using a thin layer of epoxy to attach to a wood base before waterworks were applied...good luck, and keep us posted with lots of pictures!

Thanks Mark.

It would have looked a little better but the top of the piece was left unsanded. I figure it wouldn’t mater being covered with the water anyway and the slightly rougher surface would hold the water better.

I’ll probably just be adding a clear sealer to this one. (My stains still haven’t made it to the basement.)
