I'm working on Trumpeters 1/350 USS The Sullivans. It's my first ship model in about 30 years and I'm not quite sure of the paint color.

IT seems that Trump recommends the decks be painted Navy Blue and the rest of the ship be painted Haze Gray. I use Tamiya paint and I would like a recommendation on what to use for Haze Gray.

TIA,
Steve

Ahoy Steve!

Well, my friend, I too feel your pain on this subject, as I went down this same road a while back,(I too like Tamiya's coverage) even called Tamiya America personally and talked to Tech. . .bottom line, the only true "Haze Gray" that Tamiya offers is TS32, which is a rattle can option, and there is no direct match in Tamiya liquids.

Tamiya TS32, Haze Gray

Now there are many other "Haze Grays" out there, but if you want to stick with Tamiya, the rattle can is your only option.

Hey Steve. I'm a big Tamiya user too, but when it comes to marine colors, I go with Model Master Acrylics. They have the colors you need.
