Hi Mark
Thanks for sharing those "Ancient News" (pardon the pun)
Although the Cartagenian Birreme ship is new to me, the second one is a reboxing of "Nau S.Gabriel" from deceased portuguese model maker Ocidental. This was one of the ships that Comander Vasco da Gama used in 1498-1500 to discover the maritim route to India.
These were not used by the Spanish navigators, similar, but not the same - it's like telling that the British tankers used Tigers and Panthers
A good model, and highly reccomended to any modeler interested in those Discovery / Ancient Era ships.

A point about the Nau/galleon - this is the only non Columbus early 16th century ship in plastic. and fill the gap betwwen the N, P and SM, and the Mayflower, Golden Hind models. as such I can be made into anything, with the high foc'sail.
I like it.

Good points, Rui. I applaud any addition to the sail era in larger scales, so having pre-Napoleonic era sail that isn't Spanish or English is a breath of fresh air. I wonder if any 17th Century Dutch ships will emerge....
