I was working in my hole on my Hood today when I got to looking at all my models stacked around me and then it hit me! my wife never complains about my hobby
Now to just give you an idea my hole is a spare room that is only 13' X 13' and I have 2 projects going at the same time.
Now to store all of this stuff I have it stacked up along the wall and take my word for it the smallest ship that I have is Tamiya's KGV, throw in 2 Revell 1/72 U-Boats and a Gato with a mix of HMCS Snowberry that is a pile of money But my lovely Wife will never say anything unless I start making my own PE.
I have to be the luckiest Guy on Earth

Does she have a sister? :-) Seriously that is great. My wife has a love hate relationship with my modeling. At heart I think she thinks I'm more than a bit crazy, but on the other hand a bit proud of some of the things I create.

Even more than your wife I'm envious of your "hole." I have to wait until one, or both, of my daughters move out so I can grab one of their rooms. Right now my "hole" consists of a desk about 36" wide and 24" deep. My stash goes into plastic totes in our storage shed. One big reason I don't build nearly enough ships, and none of the really big ones.

Ahoy fellowmodelers,

While doing some Xmas shopping in 1980, my lovely wife and I stopped in at
a hobbyshop in a local mall and looked around. I talked about the wonder-
ful hobby of model building and all the great hours I used to spend putting
together all those kits in my younger days.

Four days later, I received a Tamiya Panzer III and a Horch for my birthday!
These were picked at random by my wife. This was my second return to
the hobby and I have been building ever since.

The collection has grow ever since and now the hobby of modelbuilding
and modelrailroad occupies 50% of the spare space in our basement.

Her only complaint...."How come there are more kits in the stash than there
are on my shelves of finished work?" :-)

This wonderful lady has supported my hobby now for over 25 years and
I have to say it...... thank you for supporting my madness!

Cheers to all the wonderful wives and who support the hobby!

Joe

Well, my wife must be related to all of yours. After reading an article in FSM, my wife encouraged me to take what was suposed to be a dining room in out house and turn it into a very nice hobby room. The one thing that made it useless as a dining room is what makes it a great hobby room, the old a/c-heater closets. I made one of them into a bookshelf/tv cabinet and the other is a hide-a-way air brush booth. I try to keep it presentable for her and I made everything child safe for my 2 year old. He'll hang out with me in the "studio", opening and closing drawers while I build and my wife giggles at us. To top it all off, she pre ordered the new Trumpeter 1/350 Alabama for me.

Here's to our wifes.

I'm single now, but my ex never complained about my model work. She supported me whole heartedly in whatever I built. S

She actually got an appreciation of what was built and the work that went into them. She sometimes pushed me and actually bought, yes bought, me alot of the kits that I now have on display.

Even not being together we are still good friends and she still buys me the odd kit. She's still a great lady!
