Hi all
I'm currently working on 3 of these right now. One will be a waterline of U-255 in the arctic, the second, and my biggest problem right now will be a docked boat in the pens at Brest. I have the Yankee Modelworks pressure hull, Model Brass etch and all the CMK sets, Schatten Modellbau scopes, antennas and Raboech props, to do a full dock scene with torpedo loading and provisioning.
For the waterline version I added 55 of the interior ribs (probably not the right term) on each side. As limited as the pressure hull is I don't want to install it with the interior ribs without an idea of how they fit over the over the pressure hull and support the deck. So far Anatomy of a Ship and all the on line sources I've found are pretty vague. Anybody have some sources or blueprints?
Thanks

Mark,
If you have access to a copy of "U-Boats in camera" by Jak P. Mallmann Showell look at page 33 and here you will find a photo taken below the wooden deck of U-995 which I think will answer your question.
The photo shows the wooden deck laid on metal cross supports which are in turn held up by vertical members coming up from the pressure hull, I would suspect one row each side mounted off c/line,the ends of the deck cross supports are in turn connected to the pressure hull/saddle tank by more supports mounted so as to be slightly inward (towards C/L of pressure hull ) at top/deck , I suspect this angle would match the outer hull skin which these outer members also seem to locate.
If you cannot get your hands on a copy drop me a line and I will see what I can do to help.
