Words can not describe how nice that looks. Except I can't imagine somebody wanting to be perched on the edge of the conning tower like that one guy. Well at least I wouldn't want to

Hi Karl,

I think you friends dio looks really excellent, gives a real sense of the stormy sea.

Would agree about one of the figs but this is excellent stuff.

Cheers

Hi All,
Really like the dio.
The only thing I would change (and it could be it just doesn't show in the pics), is that the U:boat looks too 'dry' (matt) in seas like that i'd have thought all the sub would have a glossy 'wet' look.
Excellent work on sub, sea and figures. I particularly like the overhead shot (4th pic down).

Ahoy Karl,

Welcome to to MSW......and compliments to your friend Swen.

Very nice diorama of a very nice u-boat and also very dramatic.

I just love the B&W rendition. Keep up the good work!

Really incredible work. Be sure to tell Swen how impressed we all are. If that 3rd picture down was in black and white I'd have sworn it was a "real" photo.

Very nice work.

But I must agree on the two things that have been pointed out, the figure to near side and the gloss finish / wet look.

Ciao

Original and really "violent", i like it!! i think the main problem is not the dio but the pictures, they all show a different diorama when it comes to the colours, it is really hard to guess which one is the the right one!
*choose the one you want, the purple, the green, the blue, the grey or the sepia?*
See the first sub pic has got a wet look about it, but none of the others. it is also really hard to guess wether the water is just plaster, miliput or if the waves where done (like I suppose) using some acrylic gels.
There is also the fact that the people are standing in a relaxed way -well, when a sub is looking like this, with the front up and water pouring out balasts, doesn't that mean that is just actually "emerged" from the sea? then if so the crew wouldn't have had the time to go out and sort of relax I suppose? (i am no sub specialist!!) then the whole would be kinda inaccurate but i must say i don't really care, because what is really overwhelming here is Sven's sense of "how the water must look like", the whole intensity of his dio which makes it one of the most compelling things I saw on the website, it shows somebody that has got some eyes and know how to use them let's say it my freinds, this dio is worth a 10/10!
but more accurate pics please

Very impressive! Nice "lost" effect of boat in water.

Yes, some more pix , info, and maybe get that guy a seatbelt.

Well done!

Very nice diorama. I immediately got the impression of a sub that is getting tossed about searching for prey or home.

Nice job. I do agree consistant lighting would enhance people overall impression of the images.

Thanks @ all in the name of Swen! He realy impressed of the positive feedback.

I try to create a personal account for him. But it needs a few days. Then he can answer your questions personally.

The base is from styropor, sorry i don´t know the english designation of it, and some materials from a local building market. And the rest ist home made.

I ask him for more photos.

PS:
It is the first Uboot dio he built......

My interest are only AFV, dioramas & figures in 1/72.
