Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone has any information on this type of two man canoe.
Curious

Hi Peter,
Here's a link that will show you a picture of one of the original type boats:
http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/90/The_Cockleshell_Heroes.jpg/200px-The_Cockleshell_Heroes.jpg&imgrefurl=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cockleshell_Heroes&h=282&w=200&sz=14&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=yoAOkJYK2T-IJM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=81&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcockleshell%2Bheroes%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
If you do a google search you will get lots of data and also search for images.
Not sure if the Dragon SBS boat would do, but it might be convertable.
Hope this helps.

Hi Peter,
There's a link on the site to The canvas Kayak Website that details the type of canoe if you haven't picked it up yet. Sorry I only had a few moments this morning to post.
Go to Operation Frankton at the bottom of the first page and at the bottom of that page is a link 'Images of Kit Used', click on that and it has the details you're looking for.
Make and interesting dio, I have the book somwehere!!!!
Cheers

Hi Peter,
It will make a great one. The story of the raid is something else, they were truely brave men and suffered for it too.
Good luck with the project and keep us posted.
Cheers

I remember reading the book 'Cockleshell Heroes' years ago when I was about 9 years old, I enjoyed it then and would love to read it again.
