I started watching it and then everyone and their brother started callin the house for Renee. I ended up recording the 1:00 am replay.

Don't tell he how it ends! I want it to be a surprise.

I recorded it, but haven't been able to watch it yet. I'm looking forward to it, but I doubt I'll be able to stay awak to watch it tonight.

The DVD recorder must not of thought much off it.
I’ll have to wait for it to come on again. So don’t ruin it for me ether. :-)

OK, Deal! Speaking of dogfights, rent the DVD "Flyboys". My wife and I watched it last night and it was really great. It's about arial combat in WW1 and the special effects make the combat seem real!

Good program, plenty of decent animation. They left out the pivotal incident in the battle (IMHO). The mistaken torpedo attack on the Sheffield by the Ark Royal stringbags, revealing the defective magnetic exploders. The emotional account of the Hood survivor was very intense.

I enjoy this series immensely, as well "Shootout".

Sure Rodger. I watched the recording yesterday. I missed the last 15 minutes. Mental note - make sure the time on the dvd recorder is the same as the network. :-) :-)

Ok, so what did everybody think? The computer generated images were pretty spectacular, and I think the sound of the guns firing was pretty well done also. At times it was like being there.

I still have a problem with black and white stripes, and swastika, which I believe were painted out. Also did anybody else spot the one shot, where the torpedo was hitting Bismarck, that was a direct copy of one shot from the movie Sink the Bismarck.? I have never heard of any hit on the Hood that was anywhere near the bridge. I'd sure want to see that documented somewhere else other than a TV show. Finally for the last battle the made it look like the hits that took out the main gunnery control, and the forward turrets, happened quite late in the battle, where as they were fairly early on. One last complaint, I hated how the ship counters shown on the maps they used were done. The Hood and P.O.W. looked like cruisers, even smaller than Prinz Eugen.

All and all I'd give it a A for imagery, a B- for historical accuracy.

The DVR I got with my satellite allows me to save recordings. It's got a USB connection so eventually I can download them to my computer, although they don't have that software available yet. I'm looking forward to them coming out with that and I can save the show to DVD.
